  1.           The Blue Wave Offline Mail Door Configuration Menu Help

  3.   C)hoose Message Areas for Download
  4.   ----------------------------------
  5.   Allows you to select and deselect which message areas you want to download
  6.   through the mail door.  When selecting areas, you are presented with a
  7.   choice to download ALL messages in the area, only personal messages in the
  8.   area, or Personal message *and* those addressed to "All".
  9.  
  10.   P)rotocol
  11.   ---------
  12.   Allows you to define the transfer protocol (Zmodem, Xmodem, ect.) that you
  13.   would like to use to transfer mail packets between your computer and the
  14.   BBS.
  15.  
  16.   A)rchiver
  17.   ---------
  18.   Allows you to select the compression method you would like to use when
  19.   downloading your mail packet.  (ZIP, ARC, LZH, ARJ, etc.)

  23.   N)ew File Listings in Packets
  24.   -----------------------------
  25.   After packing your messages for download, the mail door will scan the BBS
  26.   file areas for new files since your last successful mail download.  There
  27.   are three choices for this option:

  29.     NO    - Do not bother building a new file listing.
  30.     YES   - Build a new file listing (text, no color).
  31.     COLOR - Build a new file listing, and include ANSI colors.

  34.   The Sysop may have disabled this option on the configuration menu.

  37.   U)se Numerical Packet Extensions
  38.   --------------------------------
  39.   When the mail door builds your mail bundles, it normally names the packet
  40.   extensions with the day of the week and the number of the packet for the
  41.   day (MO1, TU2, WE7, TH1, etc).  If you would like you packets to have
  42.   sequential numeric extensions (001, 002, 003, etc), turn this option ON.

  46.   G)raphics Mode (On/Off)
  47.   -----------------------
  48.   Normally, the mail door will use color if you have selected to use color
  49.   within the BBS.  However, you may turn COLOR off in the door, if you like.

  51.   H)otkey Menu Selections
  52.   -----------------------
  53.   The mail door allows you to input most menu selections without having to
  54.   press [ENTER] to accept the command.  You may need to turn Hotkeys off if
  55.   you have frequent line noise.

  57.   B)undle Messages From You
  58.   -------------------------
  59.   If you turn this option OFF, the door will not bundle any messages into
  60.   your mail packet that have either your name or alias in the FROM: field.

  62.   X)pert Menu Mode
  63.   ----------------
  64.   Enables the door's EXPERT menus.  You should not use this option if you
  65.   are not familiar with the way the mail door operates.

  67.   R)eset Lastread Pointers
  68.   ------------------------
  69.   Allows you to change which messages the mail door thinks you have read.
  70.   If you reset your pointers 3 days, this means the door will attempt to
  71.   send you 3 days worth of mail on your next download.

  73.   L)imit Download Packet Size
  74.   ---------------------------
  75.   The mail door allows you to define the MAXIMUM size of your UNcompressed
  76.   mail packet.  Set this option to "0" (Zero) if you do not wish to limit
  77.   your mail packet size.  Otherwise, you may set this to any number greater
  78.   than 50.  When the uncompressed size of your mail packet exceeds your
  79.   limit, the door will cease bundling and allow you to download as much mail
  80.   as will fit into your "packet size window".

  82.   S)et Password Options
  83.   ---------------------
  84.   The mail door allows you to define a password as an "extra" security
  85.   measure against other people accessing your mail.  This command will allow
  86.   you to define your password and HOW the mail system is to USE this
  87.   password (door, reader, or both).

  89.   K)eyword Selection
  90.   ------------------
  91.   Allows you to define up to 10 keywords of up to 20 characters apiece.
  92.   When the mail door scans the BBS's message base for mail, you will be
  93.   informed of any keywords that are present in the various message bases.
  94.   You can then use the Blue Wave Bundling Commands to download ONLY the
  95.   messages that contain these keywords.  Please see the reader's
  96.   documentation for more details.

  98.   F)ilter Selection
  99.   -----------------
  100.   Filters perform very similarly to the K)eywords option, but instead the
  101.   door will allow you to FILTER out the messages that you do not want to
  102.   download.  Again, please see the reader documentation for more details.

  104.   M)acro Definitions
  105.   ------------------
  106.   The mail door allows you to define three macros that you can use for
  107.   often-entered Bundling Commands.  Instead of typing a long, cumbersome
  108.   string each time you download mail, simply define a Macro!  At the command
  109.   prompt, you can then simply type "M1", "M2", or "M3".
